Thirteen steps trace a single Priority 1 cardiac arrest from the 991 line to hospital handover: what the caller does, what the AI engines do, what the dispatch agent decides, and what the crew sees in the cab. The command centre and the ambulance tablet below are the running systems, not screenshots.

Caller on standby

NO ACTIVE CALL

The chain starts with a member of the public, not with a console. Before the line opens, the case record is empty and waiting: one pass captures caller, patient, incident type and scene, and nothing else is asked for.

A call lands on the 991 line. The case clock starts at the first ring, before anyone speaks, so every timestamp that follows — dispatch, en route, on scene, handover — is measured from the same zero.

STEP 03

The call is bridged to Operator 14 and case INC-2481 is opened against the line at the same moment. From here nothing said on the call is loose: transcript, location and priority all attach to one case that the whole chain reads.

STEP 04

AI intake while the caller talks

INTAKE IN PROGRESS

The AI call assistant listens on the same line as the operator. It transcribes, extracts the scene address, classifies priority and assembles the case record while the caller is still speaking, so the operator confirms a filled form instead of typing one.

Live command centre

The AI assistant and the dispatch agent write into the same screen. Active incidents, unit availability and area load sit in one view, so nothing is re-keyed between a call system, a mapping system and a paper board.

Five AI engines behind the console

AI LAYER

Five engines run under the console: call assistant, dispatch, routing, hospital and intelligence. Each one proposes and shows its reasoning; the dispatch agent decides. No recommendation is applied silently.

STEP 07

The dispatch agent decides

The agent verifies the address against the map, assigns the nearest capable unit and keeps it in view for the rest of the case. Crew coordination and the hospital pre-alert are issued from this same screen, not from a separate phone call.

STEP 08

Crews notified in one action

The assignment reaches the crew as a case packet with route and ETA attached. Nearby units get a standby alert in the same action, so area cover is rearranged as the dispatch goes out rather than after it.

End-to-end flow

One incident crossing the whole chain. Each hop below used to be a separate phone call or a separate system; here they are one case moving through one record, with the hospital pre-alerted before the ambulance leaves the scene.
